At Lupin, communities have always been at the heart of everything we do. Our founder, Dr. Desh Bandhu Gupta’s conviction of selfless service to those in need led to the establishment of our CSR arm, Lupin Human Welfare and Research Foundation (LHWRF) and has shaped our efforts to build rural communities, promote sustainable livelihoods, and protect our environment.
Through this channel, we have closely worked with underserved and marginalized communities to create lasting social change. Over the past three decades, we have impacted 2.02 million families across 5,400+ villages in 8 states of India.

Agriculture remains the backbone of rural India, but still farmers face challenges such as low productivity, climate vulnerability or lack of modern agricultural practices.
Through its Livelihood Program, LHWRF addresses these challenges by enabling technology led, climate-resilient livelihood solutions anchored in agriculture and allied activities.
Implemented across all eight states, the program has reached millions of families, supporting their transition from mere subsistence to long-term sustainability. Within the Livelihood Program, LHWRF focuses on three core areas.
The program was launched in 2024 and aims to support marginal farmers in building resilient, income-generating livelihoods. Implemented across Alwar in Rajasthan and Dhule in Maharashtra, this program specifically targets farmers with minimum agricultural infrastructure, enabling optimal capacity building and knowledge transfer.
A key pillar is the Lupin Farmer School (LFS) model, which promotes peer learning through hands-on demonstrations and collective problem-solving. Together, these interventions help farmers in long-term agricultural improvement and sustained income.

I left my sanitation job and dove into dairy farming. Now I know things I never imagined! My buffaloes give 20-30 liters of milk daily, and seeing this success, I bought five more.
The Lives program by LHWRF was designed to tackle the growing burden of non communicable diseases in rural India, especially where early diagnosis poses a major challenge. The program bridges this gap by introducing preventative and primary healthcare to communities.
The program focuses on sustained management of chronic diabetes, COPD, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and asthma, through door-to-door screenings, mobile health camps, and by strengthening public health infrastructure.
